INTERPRETING
If you are planning your meeting, event or training to be conducted in two languages, I will be delighted to offer you my services as an interpreter. In the section “FAQ” you can read about the different interpreting techniques in order to understand which one is most appropriate for the kind of event you are planning and to adjust the planning process accordingly. I will, of course, be glad to advise you in this regard during a personal meeting.
Prices
The price for interpreting services is typically calculated per hour, half day or full day of 8 working hours. Additional charges include travel costs, preparation time as well as hotel and meal costs during assignments which include travel. I will send you an offer indicating a concrete price once we’ve discussed the details of the assignment.
Please consider the following if you are planning a multilingual event
- Preparation material
Thorough preparation is key to the highest possible quality of interpreters’ work during an assignment. This is why I will ask you to provide me with as much information and materials as possible concerning the event you are planning. This may include texts of speeches, presentation slides, technical documentation, advertising material, and so on.
- Time
When planning an event involving interpreters’ support, please allow sufficient time, in particular if consecutive interpreting is required.
- Contact person
In the course of preparation for the assignment, an interpreter may have questions with regard to the event theme, specialist terminology, but especially the technical issues involved. In order to be able to clarify these questions, I will kindly ask you to provide me with the contact details of someone at the company who can help me prepare for the event and make sure the interpreting runs smoothly.
TRANSLATION
I translate very different types of texts: contracts, presentation slides, websites, social media posts, business correspondence and so on. As a sworn translator for Russian and German, I also translate documents from and into these languages and certify my translation for official use at German public and local authorities. Please note that I am not authorised to certify translations from or into English although I am able to supply a non-certified English translation.
Special company terminology, glossaries
If your company uses its own internal terminology, I will ensure its consistent use in my translation. If necessary, I will be happy to assist you in or take on the task of putting together glossaries for your company terminology.
Correction and editing
In order to ensure the highest possible quality of my translations, I give my finished translations to competent language experts for correction and editing. It goes without saying, that even at this stage, all sensitive data continues to be treated confidentially according to the confidentiality agreement between you and me.
Prices
The price for a translation is calculated depending on the type and level of difficulty of the text (and therefore on the amount of research work required) as well as the deadline for the completion of the translation.
I will be happy to send you an offer stating a concrete price for the translation once I have had a look at the text and discussed the conditions of this particular translating job.
Discounts are possible for large and/or regular orders of over 300€ per month over the minimum period of three months or from 2500€ per year. I also offer a discount to non-profit organisations and to individual clients who have found themselves in a difficult life situation, e.g. political refugees.
Completion time
The completion time of a translation also depends on the type of text, its level of difficulty and size. I will be able to tell you the exact completion time once I have had a look at the text. For urgent translations involving work at night, weekends or holidays an extra fee of 25% of the total translation price is charged.
